Will 'silence' make a way for the 'helpless Chakmas' in Mizoram ???

By Suman Chakma

Chakma Villagers forcefully evicted in Sibinesora, Mizoram

Though it has more than five months been passed that this tragic incident took place in one hemlet of south-west corner of Mizoram. However, the scar left by this apocalyptic act led by Mizo Zirlai Pawl (MZP), Young Mizo Association (YMA), Mizo Students' Union (MSU) in association with Mizoram Police (MRP) is still disseminate the raw relation of Mizos and the Chakmas in Mizoram despite their for so long together stay. The evicted victims are still in a jeopardise condition of uncertain future. The Chakmas of Mizoram is still silent mostly the abled Central Young Chakma Association (CYCA) leaving out other Chakma NGOs. And the during ill-luck of these Chakmas is even the vibrant Mizoram Chakma Development Forum (MCDF) has met its temporary end due to some reasons which otherwise even the govt. of Mizoram would not have dares to support such unwelcome act by the MZPs. A question is always strike in  my mind and the Question here arises this, how could MZP, YMA, MSU and MRP jointly forcefully evict the helpless, voiceless Chakma villagers and derive them off from their own home and leave on ground without any alternative assistances even if the village was grouped and constructed illegally ??? Is it possible to throw away others at ones will ?. While in reality the establishment of this village was made only after the village council authorisation was obtained. So, in this connection even the HUMAN RIGHHTS BODIES who would come to investigate in Mizoram shall be duped by such a human-handed tricks of Mizoram.

I recommend Chakma brethren, '' SILENT IS NOT A SOLUTION OF ANY PROBLEM, NOR A SIGN OF GOODNESS  BUT IT IS A SYMPTOM OF WEAKNESS ''.

Along with hundred others, one of evictee demands is given below:
